Roadrunners are a joy to watch run and fly all year in the deserts of Arizona. This member of the cuckoo family can speed fifteen miles per hour while hunting lizards, snakes and rodents.  They seem comfortable near humans, as hikers, walkers and golfers often view the roadrunner up close.

The desert cottontail have large ears to hear predators and to regulate their body temperature. This white-tailed and bouncy bunny can reach speeds of over nineteen miles per hour and enjoys snacking on desert fruits.
