Two of Spades – Winter Solstice
Part of the Spades Playing Card Series
Winter Solstice occurs on December 21st and is the shortest day of the year. The Kokopelli in the full moon represents fertility and joy to people native to the four corners area, just as the Winter Solstice symbolizes rebirth and new beginnings.

Another Evening Song
Another Evening Song is inspired by the beautiful songs of the coyote reuniting with their partner. If you look closely, you will find all sorts of playful surprises in the papers that were used to create this piece. I love the silhouettes of the coyotes emphasized by the bright moon, and the playful saguaro.
Pretty Tough
Pretty Tough is a celebration of our fearless and beautiful cowgirls, ranchers, rodeo and the American West. This piece was created using vibrant papers, maps, a vintage female rider in the sunset with rays of sun echoing the Arizona Flag.
Happy Hour
Happy Hour is inspired by that time of day when the sun has recently set behind the mountains, the heat of the day resides, and we see pink, it’s time for a drink.
Agave
Agave Sunset incorporates an agave created with a map of Arizona, over which bold acrylic colors are layered for a wonderful combination of landscape and drama.
Partner
Partner is a celebration of our local cowboys, ranchers, rodeo and the American West. Look closely and you will find maps, music, the American flag floating in the moon, bows and arrows, cowboys and horses, created with paper and paint.
Prickly Pear
This playful mixed media piece is inspired by my love of both Talavera pottery, the mountains, and the prickly pear.
Love AZ
Love AZ was inspired by my return to Arizona after twenty years away. I wanted to incorporate everything – the Arizona flag, the mountains, the copper star, the cactus, and celebratory, bright colors. I was so happy to be home.
