These wild mustangs are up at the Salt River.
This is a male gambles quail. If you live in the Sonoran desert, you will see them all over. I love to watch the parents when they have their young in the spring. I once had them lay their eggs in my yard and they had 13 little babies. They are adorable birds.
Pygmy owl condos. This image is of two baby northern pygmy, owls, almost ready to fledge. I felt very lucky to have the two outlets looking out of their cavities at the same time. This is one of my favorite images.
Wild mustangs dream team this image was one of many I photographed at the salt river. They are known as the salt river wild horses. There are approximately 500 horses that live along the salt river.

This image was taken at the golf course at Reid Park. It’s a special image because it was published in Arizona Highways magazine. I had to go back several nights to get this photo. The parents had 13 pups and they were living in the drain pipes on the golf course. I realize mom kept them in the pipes until the sun started setting and then they would start to come out. It was a magical moment when I clicked this pic.

These two burrowing owls are the babies you can tell by the buff colored soft down in the front chest area. The babies are irresistible.
