I consider myself a wildlife and a nature photographer. I am also a naturalist who is helping with conservation. I have an active butterfly garden in my backyard. One of the many species is a gulf, fritillary butterfly among queens and monarchs and swallowtails the gulf fritillaryโ€˜s host plant is passion vine. The flowers are stunning, purple passion. This is one of the flowers I get to see every summer.

This is a timelapse image that has accumulatedย over an hour. With the north star being in the center of the sky and earth rotating throughout the night, an open shutter or timelapse shows the rotation of earth as the stars move! Shot in Saguaro National Park West.

This image was taken on Mt Lemmon one early morning in February when the milkyway was first visible before sunrise. I was actually with a client conducting a private workshop when we witnessed this scene after a 1 mile hike into the desert. The bright dot you see above the mountains is actually the moon rising with the milkyway which created a stunning composition!

Snow in the desert is one of my favorite things to shoot! We’ve been getting more snow than ever recently but usually this event happens once or twice every 3-5 years. I just loved this scene with sun hitting the Rincon Mountains with the leftover snow from that morning.
