There is an underlying message to my Street Series Collection, it is about the never-ending flow of discarded material waste into our environment. The reclaimed and recycled materials tell an archeological story of who, where and when, while the sculptures themselves can give the viewer hope for better things to come.

Dia de los Muertos a Mexican holiday is a celebration of life and a chance to honor the dead at the same time. Sugar skulls represent death, but in Mexican culture, death is about celebration, not sorrow.
This traditional design is created with lace fabrics on hardware cloth and embellished with embroidery stitching and a variety of beads.

I enjoy dying and painting fabric yardage to create the first fiber layer of my sculptures. Inspired by the Santa-Rita Prickly Pear, in this piece I used hand dyed and painted fabrics, then l embellishing my 3-dimensional desert botanicals with layers of stitching and a variety of beads that give that prickly texture and the patterns a sparkle.

Like a desert pack rat I collected circular items for several years before starting this, the first of my Detritus Nests. Materials include, wire rings, rubber gaskets, various building materials, the face of a gauge, a plastic reflector, small slinky, a plastic size ring for clothing rack .

Utilizing linear remnants of wire fencing that was used for my wall sculptures of rescued, reclaimed and repurposed items created the heart shape of this nest. Wired together with found lengths of aqua and yellow binding material. Embellished with natural seashells of green and yellow and Egyptian Sea Glass Beads.

A nest affords a snug refuge or lodging. Much like a bird I collect materials on my walking excursions around town to utilize in construction of my magical nests.

Inspired by a spring time visit to Monet’s Garden in Giverny, France I began a series of fabric flowers as part of a Fiber Garden Installation.
This bouquet of flowers is constructed from discarded blue jeans and tent poles rescued from the Santa Cruz River Bed. Bouquet includes four flowers , not sold individually. Iron Base not included.

Masks have always been a favorite subject for me. This mask takes on an industrial feel composed from material rescued and reclaimed from my walks on the streets of Tucson. Materials include, a mailbox phlegm large bolt, binding and electrical wire, electronic cables, twine, flattened washers, plastic cores from doggy poop bag rolls on hardware cloth.
