Arizona isn’t all desert but it does have plenty of sunshine. Boating enthusiasts will find numerous lakes and rivers for boating, watersports, kayaking, sailing, houseboating and simply being on and in the water, to play and cool off.
Arizona is home to over fifty lizard species, including desert, spring, tree, horned, whiptailed, and geckoes. Speedy and entertaining, many perform what looks like a human push-up to protect its territory or impress a potential mate.
The prickly pear cactus is a flat, spiny paddled, blossoming cactus that can grow up to twenty feet. This colorful cactus has expanded to over 150 unique varieties. Animals and humans enjoy the prickly pear fruit for food, jams, syrups and beverages

Roadrunners are a joy to watch run and fly all year in the deserts of Arizona. This member of the cuckoo family can speed fifteen miles per hour while hunting lizards, snakes and rodents. They seem comfortable near humans, as hikers, walkers and golfers often view the roadrunner up close.
