“Mom! Dad! You’ll never guess what I did today!” Xander exclaimed as he burst through the front door, clutching a small envelope in his hand. His parents turned to see their son’s bright eyes and excited grin.
“What’s that you’ve got there?” his mom asked with a smile.
“It’s a gift card for Javi’s birthday!” Xander said, holding it up proudly. “I got it at The Tucson Gallery, and you HAVE to hear about this place—it’s amazing!”
His dad raised an eyebrow. “The Tucson Gallery? What’s so special about it?”
Xander hopped onto the couch, ready to share his story. “First of all, when you walk in, it’s like stepping into a treasure chest of creativity. The walls are filled with original art by local artists, and there’s so much to see! I found greeting cards with beautiful art, and they even have these cool stickers that Javi would love—there’s one of a javelina that looks just like him!”
“Stickers?” his mom asked, intrigued.
“Oh, and there are mugs, puzzles, and even these fun painting all-in-one kits! I thought about getting Javi one of those, but then I saw the metal sculptures and the ceramic hearts and couldn’t decide. That’s when I figured a gift card was the best idea so Javi can pick what he wants.”
His dad chuckled. “Sounds like you had a hard time choosing.”
“Exactly!” Xander said, nodding. “And it’s not just art and gifts. There are souvenirs, candles, posters, and mobiles that are so colorful, they look like they’re dancing in the air. The gallery really has something for everyone.”
His mom smiled. “It sounds like we need to check this place out for ourselves.”
“You do!” Xander said, bouncing in his seat. “But wait, there’s more! They have a newsletter you can sign up for so you’ll know about all the special events they do with local artists. You should definitely sign up—I already told Javi’s squad to do it too!”
“Great idea,” his dad said, pulling out his phone. “Anything else we should know?”
“YES!” Xander said, his eyes lighting up. “I found out about this thing called the Tucson Trolley Tours. They do a ‘Hidden Gems’ tour of the city, and guess what? It drops you off right at The Tucson Gallery when it’s done! You can explore all the amazing places in Tucson AND end the day shopping for art and gifts. We HAVE to go on it—sign us all up!”
His mom and dad laughed at his enthusiasm. “Alright, Xander, you’ve convinced us. We’ll sign up for the tour and make a stop at The Tucson Gallery. It sounds like the perfect day out.”
Xander grinned from ear to ear. “It will be! I promise you’re going to love it just as much as I do and I promise, it’s Javi approved.”
